Lost Gazes
| ||
Window curtains, salvaged from abandoned houses, were cast into slabs of wax. The slab sizes and proportions corresponded to the window the curtains originated from.
Previously, these curtains served for privacy and decoration. The inhabitants' gazes tangled themselves in their intricate weave, hands drew them apart or pulled them close. Secure in the knowledge of being invisible behind the curtain, the space in front of the house, the street, the yard, would be observed. Exhibitions: - Kunstverein Friedrichshafen, Germany (2000) |
